10 HOUR RENEWAL CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Florida Cosmetologist, Nail Specialist, Facial Specialist, or Full Specialist

This course is for anyone applying for a Florida Cosmetologist license, Nail Specialist, Facial Specialist, or Full Specialist license type. Completion of a Board-Approved 10-Hour Continuing Education course is required to receive your renewal license. Those applying for a Cosmetology license with these license types must complete a 10-hour course to be licensed. Florida Cosmetology license expire every 2 years and must be renewed by October 31st every other year to remain active. The renewal requirements may vary depending on how long the license has been held and if any disciplinary action has been taken:

Licensed for less than 10 yearsThese licensees must complete all required continuing education (CE) hours by the renewal date.

Licensed for 10 or more years without disciplinary actionThese licensees may no longer need to take CE to maintain their license, but it's still important to keep up with new trends in cosmetology.

Licensed for 10 or more years with disciplinary actionThese licensees must still complete all required CE hours by the renewal date.
Workshop Objective: To prepare students to meet the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation mandated requirements to become a licensed Cosmetologist, Nail Specialist, Facial Specialist, or Full Specialists within the prerequisite required 10 CLOCK HOURS:
- 3 Hours of Sanitation and Sterilization
- 1 Hour of HIV/AIDS
- 2 Hours of Florida and Federal Laws and Rules
- 1 Hour of Chemical Makeup related to the Hair, Skin, and Nails
- .5 Hours of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
- .5 Hours of issues of Workers’ Compensation related to Florida law
- 1 Hour of Environmental Issues
- 1 Communicable Diseases

*If you for any reason need to reschedule this class, the arrangement must be made within 24 (Twenty -Four) hours of the scheduled class in order to receive a credit; otherwise, your deposit or full payment will be forfeited. Financial Credits cannot be traded for cash and are good for one year only. No refunds.

After you complete your course. You will be eligible to register with the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Board of Cosmetology Application for 10 HOUR RENEWAL Certification.
1. You will need to submit a $45.00 application fee to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations HIV/AIDS Application.
